Dubai Metro Blue Line
The Dubai Metro Blue Line is a 30 km, 14-station expansion under construction, with opening scheduled for 9 September 2029.
Project scope
RTA’s May 2026 update divides the 30 km line into 15.5 km underground and 14.5 km above ground. One 21 km route has 10 stations from Creek through Dubai Creek Harbour and International City toward Dubai Academic City; a second 9 km route has four stations from Centrepoint through Mirdif and Al Warqa’a to International City 1.
Interchanges
The Blue Line will connect with the Green Line at Creek and the Red Line at Centrepoint. International City 1 will be the underground interchange between the two Blue Line routes.
Emaar Properties Station
The signature Emaar Properties Station will serve Dubai Creek Harbour. RTA says its 74 m design will make it the world’s tallest metro station.
Opening target
RTA schedules the line to open on 9 September 2029. This is a future project target.
